Little Angels is a family-friendly event acknowledging and celebrating deceased loved ones from the perspective of the child. Children participate in art activities such as wing-making and decorating, face painting, sugar skull decorating, story telling, and theater.
Costuming and arts workshops are offered throughout October to help children and families prepare wings and other projects for the Procession of Little Angels.
As the sun sets, children and families process around the park and participate in a Finale, where students from Tucson Circus Arts collaborate with Stories that Soar to stage children’s stories about death, grief, and loss.
The Children’s Altar and Personal Altars Vigil are also in Armory Park during the Procession of Little Angels. You are welcome to bring photographs or remembrances of children to place on the Children’s Altar. The Urn is also present for people to add prayers and remembrances of the dead to.
