The 2022 Poster by Nadia Hagen-Onuktav
“We are souls dressed up in sacred biochemical garments and our bodies are the instruments through which our souls play their music.”- Albert Einstein
Nadia Hagen created “Pilgrimage” for the 2022 All Souls Poster. As Artistic Director for MMOS and All Souls, she has created five of the previous images; 1998, 2018, 2020 and 2021.
This year’s image evokes a dream of my ancestors crossing the Sahara and making the Hajj. The undertaking of a Pilgrimage and weathering storms and hardships to reach a sacred destination. I think this is a meaningful metaphor for all of us, as we went through Covid together, but also for all of humanity on the journey through life and grief. I also wanted to reference the Peace Pilgrims of the 1960’s who walked across the United States dedicating their effort to end the Vietnam War.
I love the image of the Attendants in our Procession, bringing the prayers to the Urn as gifts for our collective healing.
Our poster will be printed by our partners at Gloo Factory-
A Union Print shop on Tucson’s SouthSide.
Art Posters will be available for purchase in our Store 10/15/22 and at MMOS events. and of course, you can steal them around town from various local shops and businesses.
