We are pleased to welcome Sharon Stevens as a guest artist! Sharon hails from Calgary, Canada, where she founded and organizes the Equinox Vigil, a gathering to creatively honor the dead. Equinox Vigil has a lot in common with the All Souls Procession, and we are delighted to be able to bring a piece of it to Tucson.
Sharon will be bringing her Digital Shrine, an installation where messages to the dead are projected onto a screen. You can submit messages for the Digital Shrine online here (do so before Saturday the 7th!) or in-person at the event.
All messages will also be printed out and placed in the Urn for burning at the Finale Ceremony on Sunday.
We may also be able to incorporate some of these messages into the Ancestors Project projection during the Finale Ceremony on Sunday.
Please note that Sharon will be at the Personal Altars Vigil during the hours listed below, but projection will not begin until after the sun starts to set.
