Ushers are part of the Community Spirit Group. They escort the Procession and help make sure floats and musical groups are distributed appropriately in the Procession. And they keep in touch via radio app to update on the status of parts of the Procession. Available to answer questions for people in the street. It’s a great way to serve your community and help people get more engaged with the Procession!
Basic guidelines for what to wear (red shirt, Usher sash), but no costuming requirements.
If you are interested in joining this group, please fill out the Volunteer Application and check Usher. Rehearsal location will be communicated at that time.
All members of the Community Spirit Group gather together day-of the Procession to prep, help each other with costumes and makeup, eat, and prepare ourselves for the work ahead. We don’t yet know where that home base is this year, but wherever it is, Attendants, Ambassadors, Ushers, and Hungry Ghosts will all be there! Expect that the Ambassadors will gather starting as early as 11 AM, and Ushers as early as 1 PM — and then of course go until the end of the Finale at about 10 PM.
